A Babylonian furnace roars beside a busy worksite as laborers feed the flames, carry baskets, shape materials, and prepare the king’s command for worship and punishment. The towering kiln and rising smoke point to the crisis in Daniel 3, where King Nebuchadnezzar demanded homage to his image and threatened the faithful with death in the blazing furnace.

The scene centers on the machinery of imperial power: craftsmen, guards, fire, and the looming furnace built to enforce obedience. In the biblical account, the furnace becomes the place where human pride meets divine deliverance, as Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refuse idolatry and are preserved by God in the flames.
